In spring, we all look forward to it when the first spring messengers lift their heads from the ground and delight us with their beauty. Tulips, daffodils and crocuses are the flowers that make us want spring. Or maybe you’ve been through certain types of food over the years, although you’re pretty sure they need to be there. This phenomenon is widespread and nothing unusual. There are two reasons why bulbous flowers just disappear.

  • Endurance: Not every variety of onion has the same stamina as the other. While one still sprouts after ten years, others have already disappeared after three years. This is perfectly normal and it is partly due to the particular variety or on the ground. By the way, it does not help if you dig up the bulbs in the summer.
  • Mice: There are flower bulbs on the menu of voles. It is noticeable when certain varieties are no longer available, but others already. Because mice are picky. Not every onion flower tastes good to you.
